Labor and Delivery Story

What a night! Here is my birth story. It's kind of crazy!
On the 20th I hit that "Nesting stage" I literally deep cleaned
my whole house. I don't know what got into me, but I didn't
want to stop. I vacuumed, moped, laundry, ironed, scrubbed down
both bathrooms, cleaned all the rooms, dusted, deep cleaned the
kitchen and even inside the microwave. It was awesome to see my
house super clean! Kenton came home and I was still on the go.
Soon I started to get contractions and ignored them. I was trying
to see if it was just false labor pains. The contractions didn't want
to go away. My hubby was painting the closest and I told him
we might be going to the hospital tonight. He said "OK" and kept
painting. I packed the bags and got them all ready. Kenton was
super excited. By One AM we went to the doctors. I told him
"I hope this isn't a false alarm and I don't have to go home again"

I got all dressed and she said that I was dilated to a 2 1/2 < which
by my doctor that's a 3 1/2 lol! She mentioned I was contracting, yet
it wasn't super contractions as she would like to see. She called
our OB and he said "Let's keep her and get her started, I hate to
turn mothers away on there due dates". So we got the party started.
They gave me an IV and started me on pitocin. Which helps you dilate.

I was so tired, yet wide awake. It is so hard to fall asleep when
you are contracting. It's never fun! The nurse took us to a labor
room. Which was nice to be in a bigger room. Our doctor stopped
by at 3 am to say Hello and that he was going to be back to
break my water at 5am. I was good with that. Our OB looked so
tired. She mentioned that after he had his cardio and his
caffeine he is super happy and ready to go for the day.
She was right. He was happier and more awake after that.

The doctor came in about 5 am and broke my water. The nurse
came in and told us to get some sleep before the fun starts.
Kenton quickly fell asleep. While I was wide awake. I swear those
contractions just got worse after he broke that water.
I was trying to breath through them. Wasn't helping all that much.
I sat and listened to the rain outside and watching the lightning.
It reminded me of Saturday's Warrior for some reason. Probably
because at the very end of that show there was a thunderstorm
and the baby was born. lol! I know I'm weird.

The nurse came in at 6AM and asked me if I would like the epidural now,
because the anesthesiologist would be in a C-section at 7AM and
I wouldn't be able to get it till 8AM. I was tolerating the pain to a point.
I told her I was going to wait it out. I asked her to ask me again
15 minutes closer to the hour. She did, I was almost in tears freaking
out from the pain. 45 minute was long enough to deal with such pain.
It didn't help not having the support by my husband by my side.
He was dead asleep. Which he should be.

I woke Kenton up and asked if it would be alright if I got the
epidural. He was wondering why I woke him up, just to ask
a silly question like that. I told him "I need you to hold my
hand, when they give it to me". The anesthesiologist came
in and was super chipped and filled with jokes.
He told me he was a back stabber. I'm sure he thinks
his jokes never get old. I held the nurses hand and Kenton's
hand in my right hand. The Anesthesiologist gave a poke.
I breathed through it and was fine the rest of the time. Before
you know it I'm feeling all tingly like my feet were falling
asleep, when in reality they really where. ha ha ha!

The nurse came in and asked if I would get some rest. I tried
to sleep. Every time I would go to that deep sleep phase.
I would quickly wake up. I felt like I was falling every single time.
It was so hard to not feel like I was falling. My legs felt like stone.
I couldn't get up and move around. I had to have my hubby help
position me. I do not have upper body strength. Terrible I know!
The nurse put me on an oxygen mask, because the babies heart rate
was low. She mentioned that the umbilical cord was probably
kinked or stretched.

Around 9 to 10AM the nurse came in and mentioned I could have
this baby by Noon. She said there was another girl in the room
next door that was neck to neck. The nurse said "it's a race
to see who gets there first". She came in at Noon and said I was
a 9 1/2. I don't think she had me push until the other girl in
labor was done having her baby lol! She came in again at 2PM
and had me push. I was so tired and so out of it. I couldn't exactly
concentrate. The epidural made me so itchy. I was scratching my
nose and scratching my arms. I think I looked just like Rudolf the
red nose reindeer by the time I had to push.

39 Weeks and Baby crib!

39 Weeks, almost to 40 Weeks Pregnant. Only a week!
Holy Cow! I can not believe my little one will be here
any day now. This has got to be one of the hardest weeks for
me. I have had contractions and false alarms. My Hiatal Hernia
is having a great time bugging me. I feel like sometimes I can't
breath. It's so bad when you feel like you have no energy.
You feel like you're about to pop. Also you're tired all over again.
It's one of those weeks you wish would hurry up and be over with.

I keep telling myself. It's all for a good cause. My son will
be here and all will be well. It's so crazy to think still
that I only have one more week. I was also thinking
I'm going to be a mom. I think reality has finally hit me.
I can't wait till my little bug is here. You really can't cuddle
with your stomach, that would be just weird!
I've been busy working on this crib set for awhile now.
I made the bed skirt, sheets, bumper pad, and the music mobile.
It's turning out so CUTE! I was kind of worried that it wouldn't be as
cute as it is. :0) I believe my little one will love it.
I made the inside with a minky material. It's turning
out so cute. I love how soft it is. I am almost finished with
all of this bumper pad. I have just the ends to finish.
I ran out of material and I've been waiting for the
fabric store to get more in. Hopefully I wont have to wait too much
longer. :0)

I'm feeling the pregnancy pain!

This picture is super funny! I was so feeling
the pain on the 9th. I was in so much pain I swear
I was in labor. I kept my husband up with me all night
while I was having contractions. I knew I wasn't in labor.
Just because it wasn't consistent. Just super bad pains. That
felt like I was going to die.

I was so sick the day of my anniversary. It was not fair
at all. My husband was super tired the next day. I had
a plan to do something special that day, but that never
ended up happening either.

We went and saw our OB on the 12th. He was saying that
the babies head dropped. No wonder why I have been
walking so funny. lol! He mentioned that this baby
can come now. He said he could give me something
to hurry along the dialations go in the next day and
have the baby on the 13th. HOLY CRAP! I was not prepared
for that. There is so much that needs to be done on the
house and I still had laundry to fold and things to clean.
I am not ready. I totally chickened out. Plus the word
"Induce" Scares me to death. I don't want to be induced,
Then later find out my body really wasn't ready, then have
to get a C-section. I've heard that story so many times. I would
just rather stay away from that area.

I Know my doctor is great! Yet I don't want to be induced.
Please give me some answers. I don't know what to do at this
point. We have to seriously get this house going and on the
right track. Maybe it is nesting. Maybe I need things to be
in order. How can you put something in order when your
house is being painted. UGH! Someone help my husband and
help him get this finished, so I can be more at peace.
I would hate for people to come over to see Kayden and
see my house like this. It's embarrassing. It isn't to Kenton
because he is a guy and things like that don't bug him.

I knew we should have been painting MONTHS ago. But we
decided to wait until the last second to get this done. It's been
going so SLOWLY and I feel helpless. I have no energy. No
motivation. I feel like a big blob that is ready to pop!
I don't sleep well. This is going to be a mess. HELP HELP HELP!
Is all I can say... Where does the automatic energy cleaning boost
come in. I would love it, if that kicked in today. lol!
Call my hubby. He would love the help in the painting department.
Hopefully this baby doesn't come this weekend. I'm FREAKING OUT!

Two Baby Showers

On the 31st of March. Kenton and I decided that we wanted
a friend/ ward Baby shower. I couldn't invite everyone to the
family shower. It would have been way to crowded. I decided
to buy some cupcakes and put them together. They turned out
very nicely if you ask me. They matched the colors of the
baby shower decorations. :0)

I have decided this was the last time I make the Non-gluten
free cupcakes in my house. I was having such a hard time
breathing. It totally sucked! I'm sure I will figure something
out so it will be a win win for everyone. I do have to say
that the gluten free cup cake mix costs $4 a box. When the
regular kind cost .98 cents. Something is seriously wrong
with this picture. I wish gluten free was cheaper!
At my sisters house we stuck with the basics. Fruit
Veggies and cupcakes. lol! I'm in love with Organic foods.
But the decorations turned out super cute!

I didn't show pictures of everyone, I don't think my iPhone
takes the best pictures. I'll have to get those pictures from
my sister. She had her camera. Mine died and I forgot
to check the battery life before I came. I'm really sorry for the
crazy pictures.
This was my 37 week mark of being Pregnant. I am sporting
the round look. lol! I'm so happy for all the friends, ward members,
and neighbors that came to support our little man. It was
also good to see who traveled to far to come support this
little guy. Makes me so happy to have a great support system.
I love all my friends!

On April 9th we had the family party. What a joyful day it was.
Crazy that it snowed and these balloons didn't stay high for very long.
It is crazy to think a year ago I was decorating for my wedding
dinner. Then today I'm decorating for this baby shower.
I'm just happy it didn't snow like this for the wedding. lol!
Never in a million years would I think on that wedding dinner...
Hey in a year I'm going to be having a baby. lol! It wasn't
even on my mind. But I love that it is now. :0)
My sister Alysa had this adorable cake made. She felt bad
that the colors weren't right with the decorations, but I thought
it looked adorable!
I had taken the time to work with JJ to get these candy bar
covers for thank you gifts. I also had Adam help with the final
project. He was a great help last second, since JJ couldn't finish it.
There were too many pictures to show from this day. This house
Was Packed with loved ones. :0) I was so shocked to see how
many gifts were in the room. I was trying not to cry. I was for
sure feeling very pregnant and I was so ready to get this over with.
I didn't know that opening gifts would get me so tired. I really
needed a nap! ha ha ha! Being 38 Weeks pregnant is just crazy!
Can't believe 2 more weeks and the baby will be here.

I wanted to thank all my sisters and my mom for putting
together a WONDERFUL baby shower. I'm sorry I wasn't more
helpful. lol! I also want to thank all my friends and family who
came to the shower. I am so happy that they all came. We played
some really fun games. My sister even made us eat baby food
to guess what kind it was. I will tell you, I suck at that game.
I don't think I know my veggies and fruit very well. Oh well!
I'm sure I will when Kayden starts eating more of that baby food. :0)

Now who wants to help putting my nursery together and help me
clean my house? lol!

Anniversary Dinner

We decided to have our Anniversary dinner a
little early. Seeing that the baby shower was on Saturday
and we couldn't really go out on Sunday. I'm so glad that
we did. We went to Roosters and had a good meal.
Kenton surprised me with this beautiful 14K Neckless.
It even has 6 real diamonds in it. I was super shocked that
he got it. I felt super spoiled and didn't know how to react.

Kenton then tells me that it was ok if I go get my nails done.
I went and got them done. Got a little frustrated with
the guy who was doing my nails, just because he
wanted to do a certain style and I finally gave up and let
him do what he wanted to do with them. lol! I got home
and Kenton was supposed to be taking a nap. All the
lights were off. I crawled into bed with him to
tell him about my nails and then he wanted me to
get my phone from the bathroom. I wanted him to
grab it and he literally pushed me out of the bed to
go and get it. I was wondering why he was being so
funny and acting differently.

I walked into the bathroom and I saw this beautiful
ring sitting in a box on top of my phone on the sink.
I smiled really big and didn't know how to react.
Just because Kenton kept telling me over and over
and over that we couldn't afford it, because the baby
was on it way.
Inside story on the ring. Ok... So before the engagement
Kenton and I decided on a price range of what kind of ring we
could get. I walked in and saw one I REALLY loved! But
when we checked the credit. Kenton had a house and his car on
his credit. They ended up making a deal with us. That we could get
a temporary ring for now. Then once the one
ring was payed off in full then we could come in and trade up for
the other ring. I was super happy, just because the wedding
was 7 Months away. That gave Kenton plenty of time to do that.
Kenton mentioned that I could get the ring 3 months before the
wedding. I was counting down the days. Then once it came up.
Kenton had so many other things that came up, he didn't have
the money to pay it off. He said "I will get you the ring on our
one year anniversary". I was totally bummed that we didn't have
the ring for the wedding. Just because I hated the other one. Ha
Ha ha! I should have picked better.

Well later we checked the rings Just a few months back around
Valentines day, and they didn't have the
one I really wanted anymore on stock, just because it was
a Specialty ring that was only there for a while. They said they
could do a special order, but she didn't know how long it would
take till it came it. I look over in the ring box and saw this one.
I pointed at it and told Kenton this ring was the same price
and looked so much prettier and if he wanted he could get
that one for me.
He came up to me just a month before and told me that
we probably couldn't afford the ring, because baby was on the
way and he didn't think our finances would cover it, and we
might have to wait a year or two. I didn't say much about it
and agreed that baby was important. Even though I would
have to stick with that silly ugly ring. I was ok with it.

Then he tosses this curve ball and gets it. I was like "I thought
we couldn't afford it?" His reply with a huge smile was
"Don't worry about it". He had this planned all along that
little stinker and I thought he couldn't keep a secret. Instead
he pulls my leg. I guess he payed most of it off with some of
our tax returns. Can I just say "I LOVE TAX RETURNS" Happiest
girl on the block.

Here is my 38 week mark belly shot. Feeling
the bloating! Oy! baby can you get any bigger? lol!
He is now around 7 Pounds. CRAZY!

Honey I am so happy we had such a great anniversary
dinner and day. I love you more then anything else in
this world. I'm one lucky girl. :0)

False Labor Pains

I Never thought I would say this... I had a False labor pains.
I was in so much pain on the 3rd. Then had another pain with
contractions coming every five minutes on the 4th of April.
They were slowly getting worse. I was not prepared for this day.
My hubby was finishing painting then decided he needed to
get more ready. I was trying to get a bag ready. While breathing
through these contractions. Kenton was calmer then me.
I was telling Kenton it was too early for me. Because of my
silly reasons. The guest room, babies room, and living room still
wasn't completed being painted and all. I was so frustrated!!! I still
had one more baby shower and felt not prepared to go into labor.

Yet while we were driving to the hospital. Kenton started this silly
English accent and I believe he was trying to lighten the mood. Plus,
I think he was just super excited, If he son were to come that
night. I started to laugh and became okay with knowing if he
came tonight I wouldn't worry so much. I have a great supporting
husband that just makes me laugh. Especially when I don't
want him to make me laugh. It's so good to have that in the home.

We got to the hospital and my stomach wasn't as bad with the
contractions. I was super surprised they were kind of going
away. I wish it would have done that at home. When I was
trying to calm it down by taking a warm bath (that didn't work).
We talked with the nurse and got everything about me in
the computer system. Hopefully we wont have to do the 100
questions next time we go in. She had me lay on my side
and hooked me up. She mentioned that I'm probably dilated
to a One. Which doesn't make since, because my doctor
has been saying I'm dilated to a two. Hum... Confused!
the nurse said "I have smaller fingers and your doctor has
bigger fingers, so everyone tells the dilations differently.
Wouldn't that all be the same??? Not different, just because
of your fingers. I'll have to talk with my doctor about that
on the eight, when we go in to see him. The nurse wasn't
concerned about the labor pains. Gave me some suggestions for
next time. Like drinking a full glass of water. Taking a warm bath.
Trying to lay down and relax. (Maybe like Meditation. lol)
She said if they just get worse then to come in and to not feel
stupid about coming in, just because it's better to be safe then
sorry.

I totally felt silly. I keep wondering if I should just wait until my
water breaks next time or I'm in so much pain I can't even walk
to the door. lol! I don't know what I'm going to do next time.
All I know was tonight was totally silly and Even though I had
a lot of questions answered and I have my bags packed now.
I feel more prepared. I did also realize what needs to really
get done before even a week from now. Hopefully the house
will be more painted and projects will get more done, so that
I can start getting my house back into order. I would LOVE that!

Everyone needs to know that I'm ok now. The nurse gave me
a sleeping pill and I've been taking it easy. Which is wonderful!
Sleep is good, Sleep is great, sleep is what I need to be doing now.
Good night wonderful world.

Second Baby Shower

The cute little "Kayden" sign Aubrey put together. Isn't it ADORABLE?

Second Baby shower. This was a lot of fun! I look like
one big balloon. lol! My belly is getting so big. It's fun to
see how much it changes in just a week.

This shower was something I put together. Seeing that
I couldn't invite all my friends to the family shower.
I knew we would be packed with People if I did that.
I have gained a lot of friends and even my new ward friends.
Neighbors are just a joy to have as well. I didn't think if
I invited a lot of people to the shower on a Thursday that I would
have a lot of people cancel. I feel really bad! Just because I
love having girl parties. Yet A lot of people did show up
that I didn't expect. I was so happy and very grateful to have
so many friends there. So many people care and love my
little one and he isn't even born yet. I LOVE it!
I ended up making some cupcakes for the shower. You'd
never guess that the blue ones were gluten free, unless I
told ya! They were very yummy! I LOVED them very much.
I was so happy that this adorable baby shower set was
going on Clearance. It was one I've had my eye on
for awhile now. At least I didn't have to pay full price for all
of the decorations. I would've posted the pictures of the decorations
Aubrey put up, but my camera died last second and we
had to take all of these pictures with our iPhones and
it didn't turn out very well. They were all kind of blurry.
I apologize for that.

I need to thank all my Neighbors that showed up and
to all those who came and supported little Kayden.
I love all my ward members that came. Even my friends
that traveled a long way to come! I was so happy to see
everyone. I wish I got a picture with everyone.
I wish my camera was working. You all don't know
what it meant to have your company, love, and support
to our little guy.
HUGS!
